A really good debut of bleak and dissonant black metal, embellished with a few interesting melodies here and there. The production is organic and powerful, featuring great chunky guitar tones, interesting structures with paced intensity, not excessively lengthy or indulgent but with interludes that work surprisingly well. Nothing groundbreaking but a splendid example of black metal in 2015.

This is the album that started it all and matters the most. Growing up in the Armenian Orthodox Church, the liturgical passages were nostalgic. Then, the blast beats, distorted guitars and black metal screams work synergistically with the choir, creating something unique and special that the black metal scene hasn't heard before. Highly recommended!
